Milford Sound I took this photo on my road trip around New Zealand whilst on a cruise around the beautiful Milford Sound

Neck exercise. Took this one during my first trip to the United States of America. Still feeling overwhelmed about those lookups shots that captures endless skyscrapers.

I recently went on a 10 day holiday to Banff, Canada. Banff is somewhere that I've wanted to go for about 15 years and it was even better than I expected. I took this photo at the back of Moraine Lake. I went there to get the good photos everyone would expect, but I also wanted to capture shots not everyone thinks about. I made an effort to "Look behind where you're standing" in order to capture something a little different. In this shot, you can see some of the blue glacial ice above the Moraines that surround the Lake and the extremely dynamic weather that you get in the Canadian Rockies.

I took this photo at the Paris Air Show while the Patrouille de France made a flying display. They are just perfect aligned. I'm a German but in this moment I was a proud Frenchman.

I used some glitter and home-made color gel lights and took the shot with a macro lens.

I bought a roll of unexposed film that expired in 1974 on eBay, but when it came it turned out the roll was already exposed! So I sent it off to the lovely folks at Harman Lab who took on the challenge of developing this 45 year old roll of film. Here are the scans, completely unaltered in all their psychedelic glory.

I took this after hiking down to the bottom of this almost 200-foot waterfall in Marion County, Oregon. I wanted to capture the awesome rock shelf and the wild flowers blooming on its ledge, along with that beautiful old-growth forest in the background.

Like last pic I posted, but this time my girlfriend took a photo of me, I love the ligh so much!

Yosemite is the Truth. Yosemite is the Wilderness. Yosemite is the sound of the waterfalls. Yosemite is the happiness of walking a long distance on a such a beautiful trails with everything you need on your back. I took this pic on June 8 2019. This year Yosemite waterfalls are spectacular and run really fast. Yosemite has stolen my heart

I call this photo “Life on Mars”. I took this with a drone over the Christmas Valley Sand Dunes in central Oregon. This was right as the sun was setting in the high desert and I love how the shadow of this massive sand dune jumps out as the sun slips under the horizon. These sand dunes are pretty remote but worth the trip if you don't mind a long drive and unpaved roads. You can drive right up on the sand dunes if you have all-wheel drive.

A sunset in Yosemite National Park gives the perfect backdrop for dramatic silhouettes. It took me more shots that I want to admit to pose the picture just right, so that it would look like one of the guys in it holds in the moon in his hand.

They said it was supposed to be heavy rain and thunderstorms last weekend. We went anyway. We've been planning this birthday trip for months. Rain or shine, nothings going to stop us. Eastern Sierras was out of the question, Tioga Pass is still covered in snow. We drove to Weed California instead. Camped out near Mt Shasta. It was hot days, warm nights, no rain. I took this photo at 2AM cozy in a t-shirt.

I took this photo of Gordon the Bornean orang-utan (Pongo pygmaeus) who was born on 09/12/97 at Monkey World. He was born prematurely and had to spend the first month of his life in an incubator, however, he is now a dominant male with fully developed cheek pads. Gordon sat at the glass for a long time and likewise, I stood waiting patiently to capture his character as he sat staring into the lens.

Minutes after I took this photo, the clouds rolled in. The valley had disappeared, leaving nothing but the highest peaks visible through a thick layer of gray.

My father took this picture over 40 years ago. He was living in Canada after emigrating from Ireland and saw the country as a rich land full of opportunity.

I recently took a roadtrip through New Mexico and Arizona. This shot was taken in Colossal Cave State Park outside of Tucson after I'd pitched my tent for the night. I was absolutely entranced by the giant Saguaro cactus that litter the landscape. I think this shot captures some of the magic that I felt being there. 30 seconds is the longest shutter speed on my [very old] camera, but there was just enough light coming over the horizon to keep the ISO relatively low for this shot.

I took this photo with DJI Mavic 2 Pro at Elliots Besant Nagar beach in Chennai, TamilNadu India.

The amazing pleated round leaves of the fan palm Licuala cordata. I took this photo from an angle which I liked - the leaves are not arranged. Photographed in the conservatory at the Cairns Botanic Gardens in Australia.

I took this one of my girlfriend during a short trip to Israel to meet a friend of mine. We decided to cross the border and visit Bethlehem in Palestine.

I took some liberty when editing this image. I was going for a retro film vibe with a technicolor effect, which I think I have achieved.

Not only I took this cool picture with a Rycote Blimp and the Sony MDR 7502 headphones, I also recorded the sounds coming from the ricefield. Sound is something that a picture can't tell you. A picture ends by its frame but not the sound! I traveled 35 days from Ho Chi Minh City to Ha Giang and lived another month in Hanoi and created one of the largest sound libraries from Vietnam. Feel free to go to my website https://freetousesounds.com and check out all the royalty free recordings from Vietnam and 20 other countries!

We took this photo at the famous shrine in Kyoto! I shot this behind our house on Valencia St in the SF Mission District. I set up my tripod and a step ladder. I balanced myself on the top of the ladder and my friend took the shot. I then climbed down, removed the ladder, and captured a second image. Later, in Photoshop, I worked with two layers: 1. me and the ladder; and 2. the empty alley. I then used a layer mask to brush away the ladder, leaving my body hanging in mid-air. The concept was intended to illustrate the power of salvation, a gift from Jesus through which he works in our lives to rescue us from self-destruction.

We took a little trip to the east of tenerife. At one point we left our car in a parking lot... We went for a swim and enjoyed the sun on our faces. Later that day, when we came back to get our car, the parking lot was closed!🤦🏼♂️ We asked people in the restaurants nearby but nobody seemed to be able to help us. A very kind man who lived in a village which wasn’t far from the parking lot said he would drive back into the village and ask the people there who could open the parking area. In the meantime my friends and I watched the beautiful sunset and I took this picture.🌄 After waiting for ages, someone came and opened the parking lot for us. Even though it was annoying at first, I’d say we did make the best out of a bad situation.👏🏼

Going through the Atlas mountains I took a couple of shots but wanted to introduce framing. As a result, there's a gradient on framing from the hard rugged rock all the way to the snowy mountains.

Took this in the bay of Dunsborough, WA. Saw this little buddy all by itself, and couldn't resist capturing this moment. :)

I took this shot while vacationing in Disney World with my wife. Epcot has always been my favorite park due to the magnificent architecture that represents several regions of the world. The Epcot ball is one of the most recognizable pieces of architecture at Disney World and at night it lights up with beautiful vibrant colors. I wanted to capture this moment where the geometric shape and the color all came together! I used a Sony a7rii with a 35mm 1.4 lens with an ISO of 2500 and shutter speed of 1/125.

Rinjani. Last week hike to this beautiful crater lake was quite intense. First day was rough. Nine hours of hike with both legs cramped the whole path. Not sure if it is because I'm out of shape by now, or is it my backpack that was too heavy. Or am I just getting old? Second day was better though. That was another 6 hours hike until we finally reach Plawangan, where I took this picture. Literally cried when I saw the lake. It was magnificent. The scale is insane. We were walking under the rain most of the day on the third day. I already had a feeling that there might be flood in one of the four rivers that we crossed. That's exactly what happened. Thankfully the water was still less than half of my height so getting across was still possible. Overall this hike is one of the best and most scenic walk I ever did! And especially because I get to share this trip with one of my best friends.
