Hike 3 miles to get to this falls. Came early hoping that no one else would be here. With an empty parking lot and no one on the trail, I had a peaceful walk and great exploring of the falls and river to myself. Found a perfect spot for the light just as it got high enough above the horizon. An instant favorite of mine.

I recently went on a 10 day holiday to Banff, Canada. Banff is somewhere that I've wanted to go for about 15 years and it was even better than I expected. I took this photo at the back of Moraine Lake. I went there to get the good photos everyone would expect, but I also wanted to capture shots not everyone thinks about. I made an effort to "Look behind where you're standing" in order to capture something a little different. In this shot, you can see some of the blue glacial ice above the Moraines that surround the Lake and the extremely dynamic weather that you get in the Canadian Rockies.

Quiet on the lake. If you're interested in using this image on your website and plan on including an attribution, would you please link to my website, www.jackchurch.photo in the description? Thank you!

This is a 151-second exposure of a SpaceX Falcon 9 delivering 60 Starlink satellites to orbit on the evening of May 23, 2019. Shot near the 7-story Exploration Tower, the streak and the tower have a nice mirror symmetry. I would love to say that I planned this. I was heading to another spot about 3 miles west to photograph the launch and the new owners had a chain across the road and ominous "No Trespassing" signs, so I had to choose another spot to set up with about 15 minutes to go.

Three minutes before the avalanche left, I was at that spot. Happiness in misfortune, it's a pity that I didn't have more time to adjust the aperture! I also had the old 50mm lens on the camera, which doesn't work properly anymore! Otherwise, it would have become a perfect shot, so it is a hot snapshot!

I was on a trip to Hormoz island then a boy came to me and tried to sell his huge seashell. When I looked deeply to his beautiful face, I've noticed he has a stunning eyes. So I asked him to let me shoot his eyes plus I bought him a Coca. Then this photo has been created.

Mt Cook illuminated in alpenglow. The end of a great hike, after traveling halfway around the world to get here. The skies would darken soon after this and I hiked back in some of the darkest skies I've seen. The amount of stars in the sky was amazing.

A couple of posters by Glasgow street artist Bulletbeard, don't see as much of their work as I used to. This one has seen better days, still mostly legible and the ageing adds to the character.

Sunset near Gibson Steps at Twelve Apostles Marine National Park in Australia.Had a great time driving the Great Ocean Road in Australia. Watching the sun set along the shore at Twelve Apostles was one of my favorite things, the ocean never ceases to amaze!

This Carolina Wren flew in to the feeders that I had hanging from this gorgeous branch and after having its fill of food it hopped up onto the branch and gave me a few poses. This was my favorite as it stood up tall and right in the one opening in the branches. I had set up to shoot backlit for the feeders because I knew the sun would be too bright for a front lit shot and would look harsh. Using backlight and a row of dark green bushes in shade I was able to capture this dramatically lit shot of the little bird and the beautiful pink spring cherry blossoms.

When I take a photo I always try to think of how can I describe what I see, or emotion behind it in one word. I call this one - "vulnerable".

We took a little trip to the east of tenerife. At one point we left our car in a parking lot... We went for a swim and enjoyed the sun on our faces. Later that day, when we came back to get our car, the parking lot was closed!🤦🏼♂️ We asked people in the restaurants nearby but nobody seemed to be able to help us. A very kind man who lived in a village which wasn’t far from the parking lot said he would drive back into the village and ask the people there who could open the parking area. In the meantime my friends and I watched the beautiful sunset and I took this picture.🌄 After waiting for ages, someone came and opened the parking lot for us. Even though it was annoying at first, I’d say we did make the best out of a bad situation.👏🏼

This is our star being eclipsed by our moon during an annular eclipse. I viewed this in Tokyo during the early hours of May 20th, 2012. I still remember the anticipation in everyone's faces due to the fact that the clouds would not open the sky to us but also because the light around us began to dim and we knew our window of opportunity to see the eclipse was fading. It was only in the last 10 or so minutes did the clouds thin out and leave a very translucent layer for the sun to be able to shine its light through for us to see a massive ring appear above us.

Durdle Door Durdle Door (sometimes written Durdle Dor) is a natural limestone arch on the Jurassic Coast near Lulworth in Dorset, England. It is privately owned by the Welds, a family who owns 12,000 acres (50 km2) in Dorset in the name of the Lulworth Estate. It is open to the public. The name Durdle is derived from the Old English word ‘thirl' meaning bore or drill. - Wikipedia -

It has always been a dream to travel to Micronesia, but it’s a whole other story to get the opportunity to go, and dive the biggest graveyard of WWII ships in the world. The place I am speaking of is Chuck Lagoon of the Federated States of Micronesia, located about 1,000km south east from Guam on the Pacific Ocean. This is the remains of one of the merchant ships that sunk during Operation Hailstorm that took place in 1944.

[…]But the deeper emotional experience was me standing in the water and looking. The water was still quite warm. Way warmer than the air around so I was naturally drawn to stay. It felt like the water around my legs, the wind, the fresh air that filled my lungs, the scenery of the setting sun […] It’s the same story like the other popular Picture of this scene. It was so amazing. Even when I think of this now, my internal World calms down. the whole text doesn’t fit here :) More to read at Instagram @le_me_sane

Legend has it that Java island was was once floating on the ocean, unstable and shaky. The Gods decided to move a piece of Mount Meru from India and nail it down to the earth so that the whole island of Java would stop moving. This new mountain ( the one in the picture) is then called Semeru.

According to a 2018 McKinsey report, China boasts 114 of the world’s 147 female, self-made billionaires (America has 14). And almost 50% more women hold professional or technical jobs for every 100 men in the Philippines. Asia is one of the most progressive regions for women, yet stereotypes of what Asian women are like and look like persist. The beach at Bandon, Or. is very popular with photographers, and at sunset the beach becomes quite crowded some evenings. I avoided the crowd and took this from the bluff overlooking the beach. To learn how to take pictures like this, read my educational blogs at www.sharetimsphotos.com.

This is my submission for International Women’s Day. You see this image told a completely different story before, but something I never forgot about was the secondary story that crept into my mind and would stay there for when the time was right. The time is now perfect. While the original story we told was to do with manipulation for ones own personal gain as seen by the expression on the background model’s face, I realised this image could also tell the story of empowering others. And more specifically in this case, women empowering other women which I saw as a great strength!
