While visiting a small town my girlfriend and I discovered a beautifully disorganized used book store. From the first level all the way to the basement it was cluttered with old treasures and books!

Some of the Tufas at Mono Lake. They are calcium carbonate formations formed at the bottom of the lake when the lake was deeper. LA water officials started buying water rights and draining the lake in the early 1900's. As the water dropped the tufas were exposed. A snapshot of the reflection of two colour lamps in the Kiasma museum of modern art in Helsinki. A woman happened to pass by when I was looking to the window.

They said it was supposed to be heavy rain and thunderstorms last weekend. We went anyway. We've been planning this birthday trip for months. Rain or shine, nothings going to stop us. Eastern Sierras was out of the question, Tioga Pass is still covered in snow. We drove to Weed California instead. Camped out near Mt Shasta. It was hot days, warm nights, no rain. I took this photo at 2AM cozy in a t-shirt.

I was on my way back home after work. I was thinking about a way to splash a bunch of different colors in the water at the same time with one hand and the other operating the trigger or the remote. And I constructed this primitive multi-color device :)

I was the set photographer that day. Every time I look at REDs or ARRIs, there's this feeling of progress. It's just impressive really.

Fog rolls down into Lake Wakatipu, New Zealand at sunset. I was driving towards Queenstown, NZ in an attempt to shoot the Remarkables for sunset. I was running behind schedule to make it in time, and was driving along Lake Wakatipu when the light began to change. I came across a small rest area/campground(side note, NZ is awesome for that #vanlife!) and hiked down to the lake and began shooting. Fog began to roll over the mountain and it was much more beautiful in person than this shot captures. As the sun got further down, it illuminated the clouds above in color making a spectacular sunset. I wished I had a stronger ND filter for a long exposure here, but had only grabbed the 3 stop instead of 10 stop before I left.

Red Breaks Slot Canyon, soon after the entrance from the south. I didn't get past the first significant obstacle, which was a ten foot chock stone.

We were up at 3:30am on the day that the clocks went forward to summit the Cobbler and catch the first light of the summer. We made it to the top by 6:30am to catch the sunrise then once we had taken a few shots my friend climbed on top of the Needle (a rocky protrusion on the Cobbler) and looked out towards Ben Lomond. Without a cloud in the sky the light was perfect.

Sunset near Gibson Steps at Twelve Apostles Marine National Park in Australia.Had a great time driving the Great Ocean Road in Australia. Watching the sun set along the shore at Twelve Apostles was one of my favorite things, the ocean never ceases to amaze!

It's one of the two shot of the two shots of the "meteor shower" project. And one of my first projects using the "funnel paint pour" technique. It was supposed to look pastel, delicate with smooth transitions. But the paint always does what it wants ;)

Summer sunsets are awesome, they last long while closing the day. It is somehow magical that after 15 years I was able to recover/digitize this photo from a slide.

[…]But the deeper emotional experience was me standing in the water and looking. The water was still quite warm. Way warmer than the air around so I was naturally drawn to stay. It felt like the water around my legs, the wind, the fresh air that filled my lungs, the scenery of the setting sun […] It’s the same story like the other popular Picture of this scene. It was so amazing. Even when I think of this now, my internal World calms down. the whole text doesn’t fit here :) More to read at Instagram @le_me_sane

This was taken after a long day of climbing out in Red Rock Nevada. This place is called Black Velvet Canyon it offers stunning views. However, having this view after working hard whilst climbing these cliffs made it even better.

It has been photographed a billion times, but I always find something that interests me. This trip was no different. I tried shooting up into the crevasse above to capture the subtle ways light would play down the edges and smooth sides of the polished sandstone.
