Vibes: "Black Mermaid" by Esthero How? A friend comes over, we chat over tea. Another friend comes over, I introduce them, they click and start chatting. The Sun is going down, I need to take this photo before the light is gone. I excuse myself and let my friends chat, grab the tripod, the remote and a little end table, go in the sunroom, take my clothes off, slip this lacy black gown on, balance on the table and take about 10 photos. I call this photo “Life on Mars”. I took this with a drone over the Christmas Valley Sand Dunes in central Oregon. This was right as the sun was setting in the high desert and I love how the shadow of this massive sand dune jumps out as the sun slips under the horizon. These sand dunes are pretty remote but worth the trip if you don't mind a long drive and unpaved roads. You can drive right up on the sand dunes if you have all-wheel drive.

According to a local I talked to, this building is about 130 years old and used to be a hotel and brothel. It’s located in the tiny unincorporated community of Fort Klamath in Southern Oregon. I had to stand on a highway to get this photo but I love how the wood textures turned out. I especially love the random door on the second floor.

I was exploring an old town in Eastern Oregon and came across these homemade signs on the wall of an old building. I'm pretty sure the building was vacant, as was the building facing these signs. There are a lot of questions here and I'm sure there's a story behind whatever it was that compelled someone to make these. I originally identified this town as Condon, Oregon. I drove back through the area and it was actually Wasco, Oregon. Forgive me for mixing up these two major metropolises!

For this shot I went outside during a pretty cold night. I had a good friend with me and also some tea to keep us warm. We couldn’t stay under the starrysky until the core of the milkyway was rising, but the time that I spend outside at night is worth it every single time!

We live in a house that’s old (1930). It’s full of character. We love the way our interior worked out. It’s a fantastic place to shoot photos. This one I shot triple. I then blended the images so it would get a more dynamic range. I Think it worked out pretty well.

Visiting an exhibition on Matadero in Madrid, my friend and I found this installation from Mandalaki, it’s called DI_LIGHTFUL. It’s a small room with lights that create circles of very different colours. We just went nuts with it, I think we took about 50 pictures just in this place. We’ve been in Madrid for a couple of days now for work, and we are simply in love with the city. If anyone is considering visiting, DO IT. It’s amazing. The classic and the modern all together, beautiful and welcoming people, lots of art, opportunities and great moments.

I was staying in Southwold again (my favourite place pretty much anywhere in the world). The beach huts are a common thing to photograph (there’s a puncture of them in my unsplash collection) but I’m also fascinated by the breaking waves. I like this shot because of the textures in the breakwater and the shadow created by the water droplets.
