My entire life I have wanted to make it to this very spot on Mono Lake, California. The rock formations called tufas, and are this sort of eerie wonderland. Sunrise was not a disappointment, and was a peaceful moment of exploration.

I saw quite a few lakes in Banff, but Moraine Lake is my absolute favourite. No matter the weather, there is some outstanding beauty there; as can be seen here on an overcast day! I can't wait to go back here, I'm totally in love with Canada haha!

Moraine Lake has been somewhere I've wanted to visit for 15 years. Last week I finally managed to go there with my Fiancée and what an absolutely beautiful lake it is. When we landed in Calgary we had a 1.5 hour drive to our hotel in Banff and then slept for 3 hours before going on the drive up to Moraine Lake. We arrived at 5:30 to beat the crowds and got super lucky with the weather as it had rained the night before. This place is very special, and everyone should go and see it at least once. I can't wait to go back

Some of the Tufas at Mono Lake. They are calcium carbonate formations formed at the bottom of the lake when the lake was deeper. LA water officials started buying water rights and draining the lake in the early 1900's. As the water dropped the tufas were exposed. We were up at 3:30am on the day that the clocks went forward to summit the Cobbler and catch the first light of the summer. We made it to the top by 6:30am to catch the sunrise then once we had taken a few shots my friend climbed on top of the Needle (a rocky protrusion on the Cobbler) and looked out towards Ben Lomond. Without a cloud in the sky the light was perfect.
