Budgies. Budgies, also known as budgerigars and parakeets, are sociable birds, and in the wild may be seen in flocks of hundreds or more. They have been bred into many different colour forms, but the birds in this photo are the natural colour form, which I think is hard to beat.

Discovered in 1781 by the French astronomer and comet hunter, Pierre Méchain, the Sombrero galaxy is a lenticular galaxy, which is a classification between full elliptical and spiral, meaning that it has a disc structure but without spiral arms. It’s about 31 million light years away in the constellation of Virgo and about 50 million light years across (one-third of the Milky Way’s diameter). Astronomers have determined that the supermassive black hole at the center of the galaxy is about 1 billion solar masses, making it one of the largest in nearby galaxies. They’ve also determined that there are between 1,200 and 2,000 globular clusters present, more than ten times the estimate for the Milky Way’s population, and they’ve been able to correlate the prevalence of globular clusters with the amount of bulge in the galaxy. Using infrared spectroscopy astronomers have also determined that the bulk of star formation occurs within the highly contrasted dust lane.

Even if I live and grew up in a major city, the proximity of nature has always felt like one of the things that make a place feel like home. Although there is not much nature that is untouched around Stockholm, we are still lucky enough to have a national park just around the corner. Sometimes, by leaving out the noise and the distraction and focusing on a simple detail, I realize that the essence of what I'm longing for is just around the corner.

Even if I live and grew up in a major city, the proximity of nature has always felt like one of the things that make a place feel like home. I stayed after everyone left this photo spot to be able to get this shot. I really wanted to make a long exposure to get the stars in. I didn't have a tripod, so I used my sweater to stabilize my camera.

I drive by this custom upholstery shop in Revere, Ma everyday and see interesting cars parked out front. I finally got the nerve to pull over an ask if i could take some photos of the car. The owner was very happy and proud that i wanted to take pics of his car and he happily obliged. sometimes all you have to do is ask!

The conditions to take this picture were challenging. There was quite a lot of cars and low light, giving you very little time to take the photo and leaving no possibility to set up a tripod. The aperture couldn't be too high because I wanted to have everything in focus, so I relied on being extra steady.

Cold brew coffee!
I believe we've got something really interesting to beat the heat! This is for all of you who really need their caffeine fix but the heat just makes a hot brew unappealing. After a couple of experiments with easily available coffee and brewing method, I and my friend arrived at something we like.
Shot this with two LED bulbs in an octabox on camera right. It had to be a pouring shot to capture the mood of anticipation before we get to the brew and have it. I can just imagine the smells wafting around and the sound of coffee being poured onto clinking ice!

We had to walk through the house to its backyard where there were a few tables and chairs were set under a hut. They served only Turkish coffee (with or without milk), nargile and some Turkish food. At the table next to us, an old lady was doing coffee fortune telling. We drank our "sade" (plain) Turkish coffee in such a Turkish place and Turkish atmosphere, which we hadn't experienced before even though we've been in Turkey for two years. Such an unforgettable memory.

Peer pressure can be extremely strong and hard to resist.Bad peer pressure is being forced into doing something that you didn't want to do because your friends said that you should.Friends have a tendency to think that they know what is best for you, and if your friends are like some of mines, they always offer their opinion whether it is wanted or not.One of the major problems with peer pressure occurs when you get sucked into something that you really didn't want to do and subsequently, become addicted to it.Usually, people get backed into a situation to try illegal drugs etc.

A second ago she was laughing and then she decided to go deep into thoughts ... like her soul started a very slow dance, her hands were floating in air, she closed her eyes and ... I shot the moment she suddenly impressed me. Not much have changed in this photo. I'm not fan of extreme editing even though I sometimes try them. I decided not to even remove her hair from her hands because to me this is what made her original.

For a skateboarder, Barcelona finally looks more like a kind of Disneyland, with a number of spots per square kilometer, perfect and natural, completely disproportionate.

I have a habit of stopping strangers in the street and giving them compliments (hey RAOK make the world a happier place) and I spotted a lady wearing these incredible earrings last year. I told her how fantastic she looked and that I loved her earrings and they matched her very quirky, beautiful sense of style. She was so taken back that she took them out of her ears and insisted that I keep them. Out of all the earrings in my vast collections, these are my fave because they brought joy into the lives of two women that day.

I’ve been so used to sharing photos from my travels and vacations that I haven’t spent much time actually practicing the art of photographing. I’m trying to shift gears from only enjoying the photo editing process to enjoying the capturing process. It’s happening somewhat naturally, and it’s one of those things that just seem like the planets are aligning. This is something really exciting for me and I’m looking forward to seeing where my photography is at in another 3 months!

We were all terribly sick at this point and had been at it several days. We had an early morning start, not sure how far we’d have to trek until we found a homestay. At mile 8 my teammate slipped and rolled downhill, gaining a concussion ruining her knee. There was nowhere else for us to go though. So we bandaged her up and continued downhill. We stumbled across this village just in time for sunset. Running over this small winter river and into GP.

We were all terribly sick at this point and had been at it several days. We had an early morning start, not sure how far we’d have to trek until we found a homestay.
