Walking around in the Bisti/De-na-zin area of northern New Mexico I used the Rokinon 12/2.8 stopped down to f/22 for the sunburst effect. I added more sky to make a square image, in post.

Had a long weekend so I picked up a ticket to Los Angeles and flew out there for some much needed relaxation. Was great to get some content again for the first time since I've moved away from Rome, and the weather really helped pull me out of that winter slump.

This was one of my first nights out taking photos of the stars at my families farm. The night sky was incredibly clear, and so I sat out in the middle of the paddock with my camera and took photos all night. This is one of the photos I was blessed to have captured.

Bixby Creek Bridge, also known as Bixby Canyon Bridge, on the Big Sur coast of California, is one of the most photographed bridges in California due to its aesthetic design, “graceful architecture and magnificent setting”. It is a reinforced concrete open-spandrel arch bridge.

For this shot I went outside during a pretty cold night. I had a good friend with me and also some tea to keep us warm. We couldn’t stay under the starrysky until the core of the milkyway was rising, but the time that I spend outside at night is worth it every single time!

The weather was inclement most of the time while I was in Grand Teton NP, but occasionally the sun would break thru like this. To learn how to take pictures like this, read my educational blogs at www.sharetimsphotos.com.

this photo has a funny story. after i composed my shot, i heared dogs barking in the distance but i didnt realize that they were heading my way…with no friendly intentions. i took several shots and when it seemed that the sound was getting closer i moved my attention to the surroundings and i saw 5 pairs of eyes sparkling in the dark and i thought…well…this is it:) but i kept calm and packed all my gear and i used my headlamp to blind them and walked backwards to my car. after i got in the car i realized that i was holding my breath and i laughed :) yeeey i’m alive!

Last day of my vacation, on the way back to the airport. A quick rest at La Marine Langevin in La Réunion. It was worth it. The black rocks and sand were a perfect contrast to the blue sea and sky.

The incredible colors are the results of adjusting the white balance to a warmer temperature and then reducing the exposure. Nature is simply magnificent!

This was captured on the road near Reykjavik during the transition of sunset to sunrise (longest day in June). This is maybe how hell can look like?

Last night I ventured myself alone in the woods. I cannot say that I was there at ease given that taking photos in a pitch dark area in the woods isn’t something for the faint-hearted. However, the view of the night sky among the trees was worth the risk.

We hiked all the way up this mountain, which is a ski slope in the winter. It took me a while to nail the colours in post, because of the blue haze which forms in the distance in the summer.

The Aurora Borealis is the magic ingredient that makes polar landscapes even more special and rare. When it appears, it might be small and almost invisible, or standing as a quiet line over the head. But it can suddenly explode in a vortex of green shadows, sometimes with some magenta edges here and there, illuminating the whole sky and the landscape around. Any cold sensation disappears.

It’s always worth it to get up & shoot the sunrise. Especially at the beach. Imagine the warm air, the sound of the waves breaking & foaming up onto the shore. A new day, full of potential :) Have a lovely day!

We visited Paris for a concert, so we didn’t have much time. First thing we did was rushing to the Sacre Coeur which is an magical place to see in Paris. When you turn around from the beautiful cathedral and the charming small shops you’re greeted with this astonishing view of the city. I will never forget that trip - we fell absolutely in love with this city!

Around the Tuntex 85 Sky Tower are quite a few interesting buildings. This one is of a series of photos I took. I continued to walk around this building for a hour. It’s perspective, the blue sky and the sun created wonderful views!

Staying overnight in Bantry Bay, Cape Town gave me a view of the dark side of the iconic Lion’s Head in South Africa’s ‘Mother City’. Snapped this vertical frame through my bedroom window and added some warmth to bring out the glow from the rock face of the mountain.

Little do many people know, a very famous song by ABBA called ‘Waterloo’ is actually set in a small village outside of Liverpool called Waterloo, not London. The amount of people who do not know this upsets me as I live here now and it’s a vibrant village full of life, it’s own beach and beautiful sunsets. (Like this one)

Whilst cycling through the Canadian Rockies in Alberta, I got the chance to shoot the milky way over the Athabasca glacier in Jasper National Park, AB. shot around 3AM. No one else out there but me and the roar of the water from the glacier. Truly surreal experience I cannot wait to have again. This is a stack of 6 images from my a6300 at ISO 6400, F2.0 at 12mm (18mm FF eq.) Since stacking got rid of all of the noise at that ISO, I got a good Signal/Noise ratio.
