Taken at daytime, the flower was placed on a piece of glass above me so I could get the clouds in the background.

After a short hike, I eventually reached the tallest point to see this breathtaking view. The clouds covered most of the mountains and I waited for a really long time to clear up! The wait was definitely worth it.

A sunset in Yosemite National Park gives the perfect backdrop for dramatic silhouettes. It took me more shots that I want to admit to pose the picture just right, so that it would look like one of the guys in it holds in the moon in his hand.

One week with friends and family in a lonely finca on Mallorca. I remember taking this shot after having barbecue and some glasses of wine in the backyard of our stay. Laughing, talking and listening to music with your best ones until sun rises is pure magic.

They said it was supposed to be heavy rain and thunderstorms last weekend. We went anyway. We've been planning this birthday trip for months. Rain or shine, nothings going to stop us. Eastern Sierras was out of the question, Tioga Pass is still covered in snow. We drove to Weed California instead. Camped out near Mt Shasta. It was hot days, warm nights, no rain. I took this photo at 2AM cozy in a t-shirt.

https://etsy.me/2THN4BW – Buy premium canvas prints and more here — This shot was taken on the north shore of the Philippines. The night was clear and I loved the mix of stars and clouds. This scene is 100% natural and has not been photoshopped.

Sunset at Clingman's Dome, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennesee, USA. This is an older shot from a trip down to the Smokies quite a few years ago. The sky really lit up that evening with color, but I struggled to find a good composition from the top of Clingman's Dome. I ended up trying to use some of the nearby trees to frame the colorful sky above.

It was a beautiful but windy evening, with small waves rolling in. The off-shore wind made for long peeling waves, and the incoming mist made the nightsky a lush gradient of warm pink and purplish blue hues.

I recently took a roadtrip through New Mexico and Arizona. This shot was taken in Colossal Cave State Park outside of Tucson after I'd pitched my tent for the night. I was absolutely entranced by the giant Saguaro cactus that litter the landscape. I think this shot captures some of the magic that I felt being there. 30 seconds is the longest shutter speed on my [very old] camera, but there was just enough light coming over the horizon to keep the ISO relatively low for this shot.

Bagrati Cathedral The Cathedral of the Dormition, or the Kutaisi Cathedral, more commonly known as Bagrati Cathedral, is an 11th-century cathedral in the city of Kutaisi, in the Imereti region of Georgia. A masterpiece of the medieval Georgian architecture, the cathedral suffered heavy damage throughout centuries and was reconstructed to its present state through a gradual process starting in the 1950s, with major conservation works concluding in 2012. A distinct landmark in the scenery of central Kutaisi, the cathedral rests on the Ukimerioni Hill. - Wikipedia -

Fog rolls down into Lake Wakatipu, New Zealand at sunset. I was driving towards Queenstown, NZ in an attempt to shoot the Remarkables for sunset. I was running behind schedule to make it in time, and was driving along Lake Wakatipu when the light began to change. I came across a small rest area/campground(side note, NZ is awesome for that #vanlife!) and hiked down to the lake and began shooting. Fog began to roll over the mountain and it was much more beautiful in person than this shot captures. As the sun got further down, it illuminated the clouds above in color making a spectacular sunset. I wished I had a stronger ND filter for a long exposure here, but had only grabbed the 3 stop instead of 10 stop before I left.

Mt Cook illuminated in alpenglow. The end of a great hike, after traveling halfway around the world to get here. The skies would darken soon after this and I hiked back in some of the darkest skies I've seen. The amount of stars in the sky was amazing.

We drove over to see the Salton Sea before the smelly season. It was really quite an experience. Incredible area. On the way back we went through Glamis and did a bit of dune spotting.

We were up at 3:30am on the day that the clocks went forward to summit the Cobbler and catch the first light of the summer. We made it to the top by 6:30am to catch the sunrise then once we had taken a few shots my friend climbed on top of the Needle (a rocky protrusion on the Cobbler) and looked out towards Ben Lomond. Without a cloud in the sky the light was perfect.

From the Oh Tilly series "Creative Workspace", this is one of my favourite images because of the shallow depth of field and that adorable #hashtag mug (one of my faves for a morning coffee). There's a local pottery guy, his name is Devil, and he sells these little pots at the Sunday markets. I am so addicted to his pieces and to supporting his business that I pick up more than one every week. My husband rolls his eyes every time, but I've seen him pick them up and admire them. ;)

This is our star being eclipsed by our moon during an annular eclipse. I viewed this in Tokyo during the early hours of May 20th, 2012. I still remember the anticipation in everyone's faces due to the fact that the clouds would not open the sky to us but also because the light around us began to dim and we knew our window of opportunity to see the eclipse was fading. It was only in the last 10 or so minutes did the clouds thin out and leave a very translucent layer for the sun to be able to shine its light through for us to see a massive ring appear above us.
