A blow dryer project this time :) I took a macro shot because the whole project turned out a little bit of a mess.

The weather was inclement most of the time while I was in Grand Teton NP, but occasionally the sun would break thru like this. To learn how to take pictures like this, read my educational blogs at www.sharetimsphotos.com.

This is part of a small series of photos I made during a recent hike at a natural landmark that is unique around Europe.

To be a florist is not for everybody. You should love what you do. Only in this case you can create something great. Flowers is something thats requires additional care and vision of the beauty. It is like a child. Their lifes is too short. But their life is so beautiful and it makes millions of people happier.

I was hiking around Yosemite and photographing with a variety of lenses. I took several shots with a 28mm f2 and some with my 50mm f1.8. It seemed I was capturing good pictures but all of them only slightly deviated from the typical pictures you see of these colossal rocks. On whim I pulled out my dad’s old 200mm Minolta Rokkor telephoto lens that used in the 1970s with his XD11. I started shooting with this heavy old lens and quickly became obsessed with the details and colors it showed. Somehow a lens with a narrower field of view helped show just how giant and beautiful El Capitan is.

I always find the Grand Canyon a difficult subject. This time we had spotty clouds and shadows and that helped sculpt the canyon edges below.

Coyote Gulch Arch. This is the underside of the famous arch that is usually shot with a wide angle lens. I caught this during the morning sun with the reflection from the water lighting up the arch.

Chile's Valle de la Luna bathed in the soft light of the Atacama desert after sunset. I've talked before about how much I love the light in the desert. The air seems to create such a diffuse quality to the light around sunset, providing all sorts of pastel shades of color. Maybe it's the fine dust scattering the light. This is similar to a shot I posted a little bit ago, but at a later time. You can see how the bright golden light of the sun in the previous shot before sunset, changes into the soft, diffuse light of after sunset.

I'm assuming this one doesn't need much introduction; El Capitan is probably one of the most photographed natural landmarks in the world.

After a short hike, I eventually reached the tallest point to see this breathtaking view. The clouds covered most of the mountains and I waited for a really long time to clear up! The wait was definitely worth it.

80% of the images I take are with the help of this magic "wand". God bless whoever invented the wifi remote.

Here's a cool closeup of the Painted Hills Unit at the John Day National Monument in Central Oregon. I love how the setting sun brought out the color and depth to this awesome landmark.
