I went to the darkest area near my hometown called "Gülper See". It is part of an area where a very low amount of light pollution is. It is well known by a lot of the astrophotographers, because it's also one of the darkest spots here in Germany. When you want to shoot the amazing nightsky in Germany, then you should definitely visit the "Westhavelland" in Brandenburg!

Even if I live and grew up in a major city, the proximity of nature has always felt like one of the things that make a place feel like home. Although there is not much nature that is untouched around Stockholm, we are still lucky enough to have a national park just around the corner. Had some fun in the rain here in NE Ohio the other day. My oldest son and I did some hiking in Cuyahoga Valley National Park and had a great time. It was about 48 out and we hiked up a stretch of Brandywine Creek. This was at the top of a cool set of cascades.

Sunset at Clingman's Dome, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennesee, USA. This is an older shot from a trip down to the Smokies quite a few years ago. The sky really lit up that evening with color, but I struggled to find a good composition from the top of Clingman's Dome. The Cape Hatteras lighthouse, captured with love on a brisk evening in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Even without the proper gear for a long exposure shot like this, I think it still turned out alright. Big Bend National Park doesn't allow dogs on its trails, so when my husband and I pulled up to a viewing area across from Santa Elena Canyon, we decided to trade off and I stayed behind first under this beautiful blooming Sweet Acacia (Huisache) tree with our pup while my husband walked down the river trail to the Rio Grande.
