I was hiking around Yosemite and photographing with a variety of lenses. I took several shots with a 28mm f2 and some with my 50mm f1.8. It seemed I was capturing good pictures but all of them only slightly deviated from the typical pictures you see of these colossal rocks. On whim I pulled out my dad’s old 200mm Minolta Rokkor telephoto lens that used in the 1970s with his XD11. I started shooting with this heavy old lens and quickly became obsessed with the details and colors it showed. Somehow a lens with a narrower field of view helped show just how giant and beautiful El Capitan is.

A sunset in Yosemite National Park gives the perfect backdrop for dramatic silhouettes. I caught this guy walking in just the right spot, where it looked like he was kicking the moon. I then asked him to see if he could pose a bit more in that spot, but the first, unintentional picture was the best in the end.

I'm assuming this one doesn't need much introduction; El Capitan is probably one of the most photographed natural landmarks in the world.

A sunset in Yosemite National Park gives the perfect backdrop for dramatic silhouettes. It took me more shots that I want to admit to pose the picture just right, so that it would look like one of the guys in it holds in the moon in his hand.

Yosemite is the Truth. Yosemite is the Wilderness. Yosemite is the sound of the waterfalls. Yosemite is the happiness of walking a long distance on a such a beautiful trails with everything you need on your back. I took this pic on June 8 2019. This year Yosemite waterfalls are spectacular and run really fast. Yosemite has stolen my heart
