I managed to make an angle so that the sun hit the face to make those cheekbones stand out even more. I also really like the shadow the hat makes on the top of the face.

Vibes: "Black Mermaid" by Esthero How? A friend comes over, we chat over tea. Another friend comes over, I introduce them, they click and start chatting. The Sun is going down, I need to take this photo before the light is gone. I excuse myself and let my friends chat, grab the tripod, the remote and a little end table, go in the sunroom, take my clothes off, slip this lacy black gown on, balance on the table and take about 10 photos. Budgies. Budgies, also known as budgerigars and parakeets, are sociable birds, and in the wild may be seen in flocks of hundreds or more. They have been bred into many different colour forms, but the birds in this photo are the natural colour form, which I think is hard to beat.

Another aerial shot taken from my drone over a freight train station. I saw that place from my car and I thought it could be looking more interesting from the air. The rust, the colors over there made it look like a train graveyard. I wish i could go higher with my drone, but in this case I had to follow the rules and fly responsible.

Even if I live and grew up in a major city, the proximity of nature has always felt like one of the things that make a place feel like home. Although there is not much nature that is untouched around Stockholm, we are still lucky enough to have a national park just around the corner. Sometimes, by leaving out the noise and the distraction and focusing on a simple detail, I realize that the essence of what I'm longing for is just around the corner.

Early June is the best time to visit Giverny, France, home of Claude Monet. It is ideal not only to enjoy most flowers in full bloom, but also because the weather is perfect. As I walked on the main street, I realized that one of the few restaurants there allow you to visit its back garden to enjoy the pastoral vibe, but also visit this old painting studio, where Monet and other Impressionists spent time in the late 19th and early 20th c. The time of the day was also perfect, allowing me to have this ray of sunlight right over the painting tools.

They said it was supposed to be heavy rain and thunderstorms last weekend. We went anyway. We've been planning this birthday trip for months. Rain or shine, nothings going to stop us. Eastern Sierras was out of the question, Tioga Pass is still covered in snow. We drove to Weed California instead. Camped out near Mt Shasta. It was hot days, warm nights, no rain. A bright Yellow Warbler who didn't seem the least bit bothered by the heavy rain and wind. He was bouncing around in the low brush in front of my friend and I. It landed on a lot of great perches, some a little distant like this one that gave a great sense of environment and the rain and some closer and right near us. I really likd how the bird was framed in on this perch and you could easily see the heavy rain that was not fun to shoot in but worth it.

I took this photo of Gordon the Bornean orang-utan (Pongo pygmaeus) who was born on 09/12/97 at Monkey World. He was born prematurely and had to spend the first month of his life in an incubator, however, he is now a dominant male with fully developed cheek pads. Gordon sat at the glass for a long time and likewise, I stood waiting patiently to capture his character as he sat staring into the lens.
