These photos are from one of my many Iceland visits. Iceland is the place that unlocked many things for me and broke so many chains in my head.

We hiked all the way up this mountain, which is a ski slope in the winter. It took me a while to nail the colours in post, because of the blue haze which forms in the distance in the summer.

The beach at Bandon, Or. is very popular with photographers, and at sunset the beach becomes quite crowded some evenings. I avoided the crowd and took this from the bluff overlooking the beach. To learn how to take pictures like this, read my educational blogs at www.sharetimsphotos.com.

this photo has a funny story. after i composed my shot, i heared dogs barking in the distance but i didnt realize that they were heading my way…with no friendly intentions. i took several shots and when it seemed that the sound was getting closer i moved my attention to the surroundings and i saw 5 pairs of eyes sparkling in the dark and i thought…well…this is it:) but i kept calm and packed all my gear and i used my headlamp to blind them and walked backwards to my car. after i got in the car i realized that i was holding my breath and i laughed :) yeeey i’m alive!

This was captured on the road near Reykjavik during the transition of sunset to sunrise (longest day in June). This is maybe how hell can look like?

The incredible colors are the results of adjusting the white balance to a warmer temperature and then reducing the exposure. Nature is simply magnificent!

A tourist hotspot by day. But in the evening it is a nice point to enjoy the great landscape an the quiet lake.

I think like you that it is the most beautiful mountain in the Alps and even of the world. To wake up each morning in front of this mountain is the most beautiful thing.

We don't always know whats on the road ahead, but the adventure is worth it.

This was one of my first nights out taking photos of the stars at my families farm. The night sky was incredibly clear, and so I sat out in the middle of the paddock with my camera and took photos all night. This is one of the photos I was blessed to have captured.

Summer sunsets are awesome, they last long while closing the day. It is somehow magical that after 15 years I was able to recover/digitize this photo from a slide.

At the Messe Basel New Hall building there is a large gap in the building that allows people to see the sky from underneath the building overpass.

For this shot I went outside during a pretty cold night. I had a good friend with me and also some tea to keep us warm. We couldn’t stay under the starrysky until the core of the milkyway was rising, but the time that I spend outside at night is worth it every single time!

Bixby Creek Bridge, also known as Bixby Canyon Bridge, on the Big Sur coast of California, is one of the most photographed bridges in California due to its aesthetic design, “graceful architecture and magnificent setting”. It is a reinforced concrete open-spandrel arch bridge.

There’s nothing like a Michigan beach in my book. The sand is thick and grainy, perfect for afternoon drip castles that can last all day. Seagulls sing for hours, driftwood begs you to find a crafty project, and friends dot the sand without it feeling crowded. Bring a towel, a book, and your best shades because you’re going to be here for a while. Even on overcast days, this is the place to be.

Around the Tuntex 85 Sky Tower are quite a few interesting buildings. This one is of a series of photos I took. I continued to walk around this building for a hour. It’s perspective, the blue sky and the sun created wonderful views!

Whilst cycling through the Canadian Rockies in Alberta, I got the chance to shoot the milky way over the Athabasca glacier in Jasper National Park, AB. shot around 3AM. No one else out there but me and the roar of the water from the glacier. Truly surreal experience I cannot wait to have again. This is a stack of 6 images from my a6300 at ISO 6400, F2.0 at 12mm (18mm FF eq.) Since stacking got rid of all of the noise at that ISO, I got a good Signal/Noise ratio.

I was taking photos of the sky and there was this cloud which looks like an aurore so I decided to take a picture of it, and the result is really cool.

Fog rolls down into Lake Wakatipu, New Zealand at sunset. I was driving towards Queenstown, NZ in an attempt to shoot the Remarkables for sunset. I was running behind schedule to make it in time, and was driving along Lake Wakatipu when the light began to change. I came across a small rest area/campground(side note, NZ is awesome for that #vanlife!) and hiked down to the lake and began shooting. Fog began to roll over the mountain and it was much more beautiful in person than this shot captures. As the sun got further down, it illuminated the clouds above in color making a spectacular sunset. I wished I had a stronger ND filter for a long exposure here, but had only grabbed the 3 stop instead of 10 stop before I left.

I recently took a roadtrip through New Mexico and Arizona. This shot was taken in Colossal Cave State Park outside of Tucson after I'd pitched my tent for the night. I was absolutely entranced by the giant Saguaro cactus that litter the landscape. I think this shot captures some of the magic that I felt being there. 30 seconds is the longest shutter speed on my [very old] camera, but there was just enough light coming over the horizon to keep the ISO relatively low for this shot.

Sunset at Clingman's Dome, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennesee, USA. This is an older shot from a trip down to the Smokies quite a few years ago. The sky really lit up that evening with color, but I struggled to find a good composition from the top of Clingman's Dome. I ended up trying to use some of the nearby trees to frame the colorful sky above.
