I was hiking around Yosemite and photographing with a variety of lenses. I took several shots with a 28mm f2 and some with my 50mm f1.8. It seemed I was capturing good pictures but all of them only slightly deviated from the typical pictures you see of these colossal rocks. On whim I pulled out my dad’s old 200mm Minolta Rokkor telephoto lens that used in the 1970s with his XD11. I started shooting with this heavy old lens and quickly became obsessed with the details and colors it showed. Somehow a lens with a narrower field of view helped show just how giant and beautiful El Capitan is.

I love the simpleness of the classic hotrods. Who needs things like covers of the engine when there is so much cool stuff to see. I like how this photo is very mechanical with all the parts and shinny thing it keeps your eyes moving.

This is my submission for International Women’s Day. You see this image told a completely different story before, but something I never forgot about was the secondary story that crept into my mind and would stay there for when the time was right. The time is now perfect. While the original story we told was to do with manipulation for ones own personal gain as seen by the expression on the background model’s face, I realised this image could also tell the story of empowering others. And more specifically in this case, women empowering other women which I saw as a great strength!

I spent the first week of january in Miami because I had to work on a client video. I didn’t see much of the city but on my last day there I was able to take a quick swim in the ocean and a sunset walk down Miami Beach. A good way to finish off my very first time in the states.

The weather was really nice that day and really warm which is not that common at the beginning of November in Germany. The Eibsee is one of my favorite spots in the alps and always worth a visit. If there is no wind you can get awesome reflections in the lake.

When I was a little kid, I dreamed I’m in a church with tall black walls. I was a prisoner cause I could see no windows or doors and I was lost between too many chairs around me!‌ I remember turning my head and there were two girls that were calling my name. I stepped towards them. On of them grabbed me and pulled me to herself. She circled her arms around me and I was ready to kiss her. I got closer and then suddenly I realized she has no face! It freaked me out. I jumped back and fell on a chair. Then they took their knives out and attacked me to rip my face off.

I love elegant and minimal images, and not to mention, anything that involves florals. Every week I purchase florals from Trader Joes and practice my photography skills shooting them with simple props from around home. Hence, the image you see here! Also, the lovely mini plates are from Magnolia! To shoot this image, I used natural lighting, and some foam board to style the props on. I will rearrange and crop for a variety as well!

Lagos was actually the first place I was able to get really close to seagulls. There where a lot of them on the beaches and they were constantly fighting for the places with the best views. I tried to get a close shot and moved a little closer with every picture I took, but at some point my respect of them just got too big, so I stayed away. This one, that was actually taken from further away is definitely my favorite.

We started hiking a couple hours before sunrise, finding our way up the mountain. The trail was overgrown and very hard to follow at times. We made several wrong turns. There was not a single person in sight at any point on the mountain. All to keep us company was the stories we told of our lives and how God as transformed us as we established new friendships. This picture makes me feel a sense of Awe for Gods creation and Gods creations.

Festivals are the greatest place for reports photographer. It is always unique atmosphere. Of course it is unique moods of people and great colorful emotions. For this festival is like time-traveling. Going through you fall deeper and deeper. And there is no end. Each time is brilliant. It is very inspired and inspiring people who love their work and that they do.

I spent the weekends in SoCal and came across a photo of the Pirate Tower and thought it looked fantastic so I asked the front desk of my hotel and they told me about Victoria Beach so I headed there. The tower looks surreal. It’s right by the cliff and seems like an antique.
