The weather at Fuji can be quite capricious: you can consider yourself lucky if you happen to get a clear view. Some people went there 3 times, only to see Fuji hiding in the clouds. I tried to make the most of this luck and capture this scenery with a personal touch.

This photo was shot from a place quite remote to the public, especially at the time it was shot. Almost no post processing was necessary. It has a special place for me because I hiked both mountains and stayed at the mountain it was shot from. Everyone tells me how it should be the next Apple default desktop which makes it even more special to me on how people see the image.

The conditions to take this picture were challenging. There was quite a lot of cars and low light, giving you very little time to take the photo and leaving no possibility to set up a tripod. The aperture couldn't be too high because I wanted to have everything in focus, so I relied on being extra steady.

Cold brew coffee! I believe we've got something really interesting to beat the heat! This is for all of you who really need their caffeine fix but the heat just makes a hot brew unappealing. After a couple of experiments with easily available coffee and brewing method, I and my friend arrived at something we like. Shot this with two LED bulbs in an octabox on camera right. It had to be a pouring shot to capture the mood of anticipation before we get to the brew and have it. I can just imagine the smells wafting around and the sound of coffee being poured onto clinking ice!

This Carolina Wren flew in to the feeders that I had hanging from this gorgeous branch and after having its fill of food it hopped up onto the branch and gave me a few poses. This was my favorite as it stood up tall and right in the one opening in the branches. I had set up to shoot backlit for the feeders because I knew the sun would be too bright for a front lit shot and would look harsh. Using backlight and a row of dark green bushes in shade I was able to capture this dramatically lit shot of the little bird and the beautiful pink spring cherry blossoms.

Peer pressure can be extremely strong and hard to resist.Bad peer pressure is being forced into doing something that you didn't want to do because your friends said that you should.Friends have a tendency to think that they know what is best for you, and if your friends are like some of mines, they always offer their opinion whether it is wanted or not.One of the major problems with peer pressure occurs when you get sucked into something that you really didn't want to do and subsequently, become addicted to it.Usually, people get backed into a situation to try illegal drugs etc.

I spent the past summer working on the 4UR Ranch in southwest Colorado which provided me plenty of opportunity to capture some great shots. This particular picture looks down from the mountainside on the east side of the ranch. The Rio Grande River can be seen flowing past the entrance of the ranch as it winds its way through wagon wheel gap.

I have taken a very early morning walk to one of the many viewpoints overlooking Mt Bromo and pointed my camera in the "wrong" direction. Just outside a crater a river flowing through a valley can be seen. According to Balinese beliefs bad omens and ghosts dwell in the rivers.

All you need for this shot is some pomme frites (french fries) and some patience. Let the birds know you have some with a good teaser fry, then hold it where you want them to land. Have the camera ready in the other hand and be ready to hold the trigger for that one good shot. Sadly, though, this beautiful monument of art is in a state of tragedy.

We took a little trip to the east of tenerife. At one point we left our car in a parking lot... We went for a swim and enjoyed the sun on our faces. Later that day, when we came back to get our car, the parking lot was closed!🤦🏼‍♂️ We asked people in the restaurants nearby but nobody seemed to be able to help us. A very kind man who lived in a village which wasn’t far from the parking lot said he would drive back into the village and ask the people there who could open the parking area. In the meantime my friends and I watched the beautiful sunset and I took this picture.🌄 After waiting for ages, someone came and opened the parking lot for us. Even though it was annoying at first, I’d say we did make the best out of a bad situation.👏🏼

A grand-design spiral galaxy that's estimated to be approximately 21 million light years away and 170,000 light years across, compared to the Milky Way's 250,000 light year diameter, it's estimated to be home to around one trillion stars - more than double the Milky Way. Its asymmetrical shape is due to gravitational forces from surrounding smaller galaxies, one of which is visible in the upper right of the frame, a smaller elliptical galaxy, NGC 5204. This is our star being eclipsed by our moon during an annular eclipse. I viewed this in Tokyo during the early hours of May 20th, 2012. I still remember the anticipation in everyone's faces due to the fact that the clouds would not open the sky to us but also because the light around us began to dim and we knew our window of opportunity to see the eclipse was fading. It was only in the last 10 or so minutes did the clouds thin out and leave a very translucent layer for the sun to be able to shine its light through for us to see a massive ring appear above us.

Rinjani. Last week hike to this beautiful crater lake was quite intense. First day was rough. Nine hours of hike with both legs cramped the whole path. Not sure if it is because I'm out of shape by now, or is it my backpack that was too heavy. Or am I just getting old? Second day was better though. That was another 6 hours hike until we finally reach Plawangan, where I took this picture. Literally cried when I saw the lake. It was magnificent. The scale is insane. We were walking under the rain most of the day on the third day. I already had a feeling that there might be flood in one of the four rivers that we crossed. That's exactly what happened. Thankfully the water was still less than half of my height so getting across was still possible. Overall this hike is one of the best and most scenic walk I ever did! And especially because I get to share this trip with one of my best friends.

The Boardman Tree farm in northern Oregon was an incredible place to visit. The 25,000 acres of poplar trees made for an almost otherworldly experience in the fall. The farm was sold in January of 2016 to be cut down and used for cow pastures and agriculture. This photo was taken during during the autumn of 2016 before the bulk of the man made forest was removed. Small sections reportedly still remain, but not at the mind blowing scale of a few years ago.
