According to a 2018 McKinsey report, China boasts 114 of the world’s 147 female, self-made billionaires (America has 14). And almost 50% more women hold professional or technical jobs for every 100 men in the Philippines. Asia is one of the most progressive regions for women, yet stereotypes of what Asian women are like and look like persist. BBH Singapore’s ‘See Different’ collection of images seeks to change that by showing the true diversity and personality of women across the Asian region. Photo by @meaneggs on Instagram.

The weather was inclement most of the time while I was in Grand Teton NP, but occasionally the sun would break thru like this. To learn how to take pictures like this, read my educational blogs at www.sharetimsphotos.com.

This is my submission for International Women’s Day. You see this image told a completely different story before, but something I never forgot about was the secondary story that crept into my mind and would stay there for when the time was right. The time is now perfect. While the original story we told was to do with manipulation for ones own personal gain as seen by the expression on the background model’s face, I realised this image could also tell the story of empowering others. And more specifically in this case, women empowering other women which I saw as a great strength!

I did this Kayak Tour of the Milford Sound on a recent trip to New Zealand with Urban Armor Gear. After racing a colleague directly across the sound (about 1/2 mile), I pulled my camera out while resting and waiting for the rest of the group to catch up. The kayak was narrow and would easily tip so every movement on the kayak was tedious. Here I balanced my phone while taking a picture of the fog and light rain which gave the fiordlands an eerie feeling. Due to the lack of light, the only thing color that really stood out was my kayak and dry bag.

It has always been a dream to travel to Micronesia, but it’s a whole other story to get the opportunity to go, and dive the biggest graveyard of WWII ships in the world. The place I am speaking of is Chuck Lagoon of the Federated States of Micronesia, located about 1,000km south east from Guam on the Pacific Ocean. This is the remains of one of the merchant ships that sunk during Operation Hailstorm that took place in 1944.

I’ve been visiting this part of the California coastline since before I can remember. Every year my parents would take my siblings and I camping in the redwoods just a few miles away from this very stretch of Hwy 1. I still come back to this place whenever I get a chance, it’s just too beautiful and too full of fond memories to stay away for long. This morning was my first time visiting with a drone, and it was an incredible experience getting to see this place that I love from a new perspective

I was staying in Southwold again (my favourite place pretty much anywhere in the world). The beach huts are a common thing to photograph (there’s a puncture of them in my unsplash collection) but I’m also fascinated by the breaking waves. I like this shot because of the textures in the breakwater and the shadow created by the water droplets.

Early mornings in ghyangphedi are priceless. Each day I’d wake up with sunrise, walk down through the village towards the river. Passing local nepali people as they started their mornings, gathering water, washing clothes, preparing tea, etc. I walked across this tiny little bridge, over the small winter river and would sit up in the cliffs as the sun rose to light up the snow-capped mountains.

Our world is so digital these days. Most of the time, it’s a good thing. But on days like this– when it’s drizzling outside my window– it’s nice to unplug from it all and work on a project that doesn’t depend on your ability to use a computer. It’s just you, your hands, and your imagination.

Last weekend I made the long drive to Bathurst to watch the 12 hour GT race that comes on once a year. Every year they close a public road that drives around a mountain to host a 12 hour endurance race. This year is my third year and I was blown away with the quality of cars that were there. Simply put this shot was taken to awe the craftsmanship of such an iconic car. A car that is world famous for being a endurance race winner.

A little planet is a projection method of a 360 photo. Last 7 years I shot several hundreds of these at cities around the world. Mainly to upload to Google Maps to help people prepare their holiday or weekend trip to. My Google Maps collection is one of the most viewed collections in the world and in 2018 I won the official Google Streetview Challenge in Japan for one of my submissions. The way I get the most interesting view of a location is from a 6 meter high monopod. The elevation of the camera gives a way better overview 360 photo’s won’t work here but tiny planet’s do

Know the symptoms. I wanted to create a simplistic and bold stand-out visual that would draw peoples attention to then want to read more about the important message. The three circles highlight the areas that the main symptoms occur, with a very direct message to clarify. Image created by So Fia.
