Another aerial shot taken from my drone over a freight train station. I saw that place from my car and I thought it could be looking more interesting from the air. They said it was supposed to be heavy rain and thunderstorms last weekend. We went anyway. We've been planning this birthday trip for months. Rain or shine, nothings going to stop us. Eastern Sierras was out of the question, Tioga Pass is still covered in snow. We drove to Weed California instead. Camped out near Mt Shasta. It was hot days, warm nights, no rain. I took this photo at 2AM cozy in a t-shirt.

The weather at Fuji can be quite capricious: you can consider yourself lucky if you happen to get a clear view. Some people went there 3 times, only to see Fuji hiding in the clouds. I tried to make the most of this luck and capture this scenery with a personal touch.

Chile's Valle de la Luna bathed in the soft light of the Atacama desert after sunset. I've talked before about how much I love the light in the desert. The air seems to create such a diffuse quality to the light around sunset, providing all sorts of pastel shades of color. Maybe it's the fine dust scattering the light. This is similar to a shot I posted a little bit ago, but at a later time. You can see how the bright golden light of the sun in the previous shot before sunset, changes into the soft, diffuse light of after sunset.

I spent the past summer working on the 4UR Ranch in southwest Colorado which provided me plenty of opportunity to capture some great shots. This particular picture looks down from the mountainside on the east side of the ranch. The Rio Grande River can be seen flowing past the entrance of the ranch as it winds its way through wagon wheel gap.
