I recently went on a 10 day holiday to Banff, Canada. Banff is somewhere that I've wanted to go for about 15 years and it was even better than I expected. I took this photo at the back of Moraine Lake. I went there to get the good photos everyone would expect, but I also wanted to capture shots not everyone thinks about. I made an effort to "Look behind where you're standing" in order to capture something a little different. In this shot, you can see some of the blue glacial ice above the Moraines that surround the Lake and the extremely dynamic weather that you get in the Canadian Rockies.

A sunset in Yosemite National Park gives the perfect backdrop for dramatic silhouettes. It took me more shots that I want to admit to pose the picture just right, so that it would look like one of the guys in it holds in the moon in his hand.

This Carolina Wren flew in to the feeders that I had hanging from this gorgeous branch and after having its fill of food it hopped up onto the branch and gave me a few poses. This was my favorite as it stood up tall and right in the one opening in the branches. I had set up to shoot backlit for the feeders because I knew the sun would be too bright for a front lit shot and would look harsh. Using backlight and a row of dark green bushes in shade I was able to capture this dramatically lit shot of the little bird and the beautiful pink spring cherry blossoms.

Taken from a WestJet plane at 33,000 feet, down towards the Arizona Desert. Then flipped 180º for a neat look. The road in the photo is Interstate 17.

According to a 2018 McKinsey report, China boasts 114 of the world’s 147 female, self-made billionaires (America has 14). And almost 50% more women hold professional or technical jobs for every 100 men in the Philippines. Asia is one of the most progressive regions for women, yet stereotypes of what Asian women are like and look like persist. If you visit Thailand and you want to meet some animals such as these Asian Elephants, make sure you do your research. There is a lot of oppressive treatment of these gentle giants for tourism. You should look to visit an elephant sanctuary where the fees are high, where the elephants are free to roam, feed, play and bathe, where there are NEVER any chains or elephant riding. When visiting Chiang Mai - try Elephant Nature Park, who do some wonderful things with animal rescue.

This was a journey to meet my in-laws and produce as many photos as I can for myself. I fell in love with this beautiful country, the spirituality, the freedom and the food. Wherever I look, there was a real scene from real life. I’ve never been so aware in my life as a photographer. This country opened my eyes once again to what’s really important in life.

I believe that the best views in cities are totally free. If someone tries to charge for rooftop or viewpoint, just go away. Look around, be inventible, try to find another way and you will be surprised even if you don’t get the same point!

6am start for a zodiac cruise in the aptly named Paradise Harbour. As we silently drifted past huge icebergs with the snow falling, we were surrounded by at least 12 ‘bubble net feeding’ humpback whales. Genuinely had no idea which direction to look, they were everywhere! ⠀⠀⠀⠀ Paradise indeed.

I encountered this chill toad on the trail last summer. He didn’t move. We just looked at each other for few minutes and then I left him to his duty. Thanks for this moment, Mr. Toad.
