I was walking around at Pride 2019 in New York to portrait interesting people and scenes. I met this amazing person making poses. I managed to make an angle so that the sun hit the face to make those cheekbones stand out even more. I also really like the shadow the hat makes on the top of the face.

Vibes: "Black Mermaid" by Esthero How? A friend comes over, we chat over tea. Another friend comes over, I introduce them, they click and start chatting. The Sun is going down, I need to take this photo before the light is gone. I excuse myself and let my friends chat, grab the tripod, the remote and a little end table, go in the sunroom, take my clothes off, slip this lacy black gown on, balance on the table and take about 10 photos. Slip my clothes back on, put everything back, my friends did not even notice I was gone. Whatever it takes... “I must be a mermaid, Rango. Even if I live and grew up in a major city, the proximity of nature has always felt like one of the things that make a place feel like home. Although there is not much nature that is untouched around Stockholm, we are still lucky enough to have a national park just around the corner. Sometimes, by leaving out the noise and the distraction and focusing on a simple detail, I realize that the essence of what I'm longing for is just around the corner.

I was out shooting in Chicago when I passed the Chicago Theatre. I've shot here so many times I wasn't even going to stop to shoot it but then I noticed the Tulips which are only here for a little bit every year. I crouched down and saw this awesome perspective and decided to capture it.

This photo was shot from a place quite remote to the public, especially at the time it was shot. Almost no post processing was necessary. It has a special place for me because I hiked both mountains and stayed at the mountain it was shot from. Everyone tells me how it should be the next Apple default desktop which makes it even more special to me on how people see the image.

It was raining so we decided to have a coffee while waiting for the rain to stop. This coffee shop was hidden from the crowd. We had to walk through the house to its backyard where there were a few tables and chairs were set under a hut. They served only Turkish coffee (with or without milk), nargile and some Turkish food. At the table next to us, an old lady was doing coffee fortune telling. We drank our "sade" (plain) Turkish coffee in such a Turkish place and Turkish atmosphere, which we hadn't experienced before even though we've been in Turkey for two years. Such an unforgettable memory.

The Cape Hatteras lighthouse, captured with love on a brisk evening in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Even without the proper gear for a long exposure shot like this, I think it still turned out alright. I'd also like to give a shout out to the state and national park services for all they do to preserve the natural beauty found within our country. They make a huge difference and I really can't thank them enough.

Police barricades during the yellow vest protests in Lyon. Police violence is at its highest since 1968. As of now, 23 persons have lost an eye (https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D41GrQrX4AAMCB6.jpg:large). Recently an independant journalist, got arrested (https://twitter.com/GaspardGlanz). Violence continues, even though Amnesty International and the UN condemned the use of excessive force against protesters (https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2018/12/police-must-end-use-of-excessive-force-against-protesters-and-high-school-children-in-france/).

We took a little trip to the east of tenerife. At one point we left our car in a parking lot... We went for a swim and enjoyed the sun on our faces. Later that day, when we came back to get our car, the parking lot was closed!🤦🏼‍♂️ We asked people in the restaurants nearby but nobody seemed to be able to help us. A very kind man who lived in a village which wasn’t far from the parking lot said he would drive back into the village and ask the people there who could open the parking area. In the meantime my friends and I watched the beautiful sunset and I took this picture.🌄 After waiting for ages, someone came and opened the parking lot for us. Even though it was annoying at first, I’d say we did make the best out of a bad situation.👏🏼

She could suddenly become a whole other character. A second ago she was laughing and then she decided to go deep into thoughts ... like her soul started a very slow dance, her hands were floating in air, she closed her eyes and ... I shot the moment she suddenly impressed me. Not much have changed in this photo. I'm not fan of extreme editing even though I sometimes try them. I decided not to even remove her hair from her hands because to me this is what made her original.

In the early 2000s in Spain, Barcelona has managed to establish itself as a reference for skateboarding worldwide, surpassing legendary cities like San Francisco or New York ... A pleasant climate all year long, the sea near the city center, cheap life and a more permissive society have pushed many American and European professionals to spend 6 months per year, or even to move there. For a skateboarder, Barcelona finally looks more like a kind of Disneyland, with a number of spots per square kilometer, perfect and natural, completely disproportionate.

An unusual view on my hometown, Davos, Switzerland. It’s amazingly settled in between beautiful mountains at 1’560 a.s.l. The lake in front reflects the amazing colours of the setting sun. You can even see the train of the Rhätische Bahn (RhB) at the bottom left hand side.

The Aurora Borealis is the magic ingredient that makes polar landscapes even more special and rare. When it appears, it might be small and almost invisible, or standing as a quiet line over the head. But it can suddenly explode in a vortex of green shadows, sometimes with some magenta edges here and there, illuminating the whole sky and the landscape around. Any cold sensation disappears.

I use the changing light of day to arouse the mood of my dreams, I describe the pool as a part of my fantasy. There’s nothing like a Michigan beach in my book. The sand is thick and grainy, perfect for afternoon drip castles that can last all day. Seagulls sing for hours, driftwood begs you to find a crafty project, and friends dot the sand without it feeling crowded. Bring a towel, a book, and your best shades because you’re going to be here for a while. Even on overcast days, this is the place to be.

Taken after the wedding actually The happy bride started to get ready at noon and we left her house in a super hurry, like 1h before the sunset hoping to still catch a bit of light (in Philippines the sunset is really early - at that time around 5 pm). Anyway, initially we supposed to shoot at a local football stadium but 🙂, because we arrived there “too late” everything was closed already (Sunday afternoon) and not even a guard to bribe around 😬. Due to mentioned facts we had no choice anymore so… we had to stop the car just like that, next to a plain field… and voila, this is the result :)
