I’ve got love for our crazy history of inventors in Scotland. My birthplace is also the birthplace of the tyre. Since then, it’s the home of a vintage car rally every year as an ode to the fella. Wee towns you drive through here have placards outside the town proclaiming the inventions, playing historical one-upmanship. We’ve lost some of our pride in that field.

I believe that the best views in cities are totally free. If someone tries to charge for rooftop or viewpoint, just go away. Look around, be inventible, try to find another way and you will be surprised even if you don’t get the same point!

Cold brew coffee! I believe we've got something really interesting to beat the heat! This is for all of you who really need their caffeine fix but the heat just makes a hot brew unappealing. After a couple of experiments with easily available coffee and brewing method, I and my friend arrived at something we like. Shot this with two LED bulbs in an octabox on camera right. It had to be a pouring shot to capture the mood of anticipation before we get to the brew and have it. I can just imagine the smells wafting around and the sound of coffee being poured onto clinking ice!

Not only I took this cool picture with a Rycote Blimp and the Sony MDR 7502 headphones, I also recorded the sounds coming from the ricefield. Sound is something that a picture can't tell you. A picture ends by its frame but not the sound! I traveled 35 days from Ho Chi Minh City to Ha Giang and lived another month in Hanoi and created one of the largest sound libraries from Vietnam. If you wait in certain spots across the Chicagoland area, you are bound to have a plane go directly overhead every 5-10 minutes. I did not have to wait long before this plane crossed perfectly into the puddle that also reflected Trump Tower.

I drive by this custom upholstery shop in Revere, Ma everyday and see interesting cars parked out front. I finally got the nerve to pull over an ask if i could take some photos of the car. The owner was very happy and proud that i wanted to take pics of his car and he happily obliged. sometimes all you have to do is ask!

I recently went on a 10 day holiday to Banff, Canada. Banff is somewhere that I've wanted to go for about 15 years and it was even better than I expected. I took this photo at the back of Moraine Lake. I went there to get the good photos everyone would expect, but I also wanted to capture shots not everyone thinks about. I made an effort to "Look behind where you're standing" in order to capture something a little different. In this shot, you can see some of the blue glacial ice above the Moraines that surround the Lake and the extremely dynamic weather that you get in the Canadian Rockies.
