A masterpiece of the medieval Georgian architecture, the cathedral suffered heavy damage throughout centuries and was reconstructed to its present state through a gradual process starting in the 1950s, with major conservation works concluding in 2012. Fog rolls down into Lake Wakatipu, New Zealand at sunset. I was driving towards Queenstown, NZ in an attempt to shoot the Remarkables for sunset. I was running behind schedule to make it in time, and was driving along Lake Wakatipu when the light began to change. I came across a small rest area/campground(side note, NZ is awesome for that #vanlife!) and hiked down to the lake and began shooting. Fog began to roll over the mountain and it was much more beautiful in person than this shot captures. As the sun got further down, it illuminated the clouds above in color making a spectacular sunset. I wished I had a stronger ND filter for a long exposure here, but had only grabbed the 3 stop instead of 10 stop before I left.

Police fires tear gas at Yellow Vest demonstrators during the 25th weekend of protests in the streets of Lyon, France. Police violence is at its highest since the 1950s. There is an extensive use of tear gas, sting-ball grenades and LBDs ("defense ball launchers") against largely peaceful protestors. According to official numbers, as of now, 1.428 tear gas grenades and 13.460 rubber bullets have been fired. As of now (May 5th, 2019), 23 persons lost an eye and 5 persons their hand during protests (source: mediapart.fr, http://tiny.cc/6hd85y).

I spent the past summer working on the 4UR Ranch in southwest Colorado which provided me plenty of opportunity to capture some great shots. This particular picture looks down from the mountainside on the east side of the ranch. The Rio Grande River can be seen flowing past the entrance of the ranch as it winds its way through wagon wheel gap.

The golden light of the setting sun illuminates the Valle de la Luna in the Atacama Desert, Chile. I have long wanted to visit the Atacama and recently had the chance to do so. It is the driest place on Earth and the otherwordly landscapes look as such.

I was walking to the station to catch a train home after a long day when I noticed that the sun, as it was setting, had perfectly singled out this one building across the river. Everything else around me had already entered into the blue haze of the early moments of the night except this one building. It stuck out to me as remarkably beautiful.

Long exposure of vehicles traveling along the Rt. 97 Scenic Byway. As can been seen from the shot, this is the famous section at Hawk’s Nest that has multiple tight s-bends. The pull-offs along this section give magnificent elevated views of the Delaware River.

This is my submission for International Women’s Day. You see this image told a completely different story before, but something I never forgot about was the secondary story that crept into my mind and would stay there for when the time was right. The time is now perfect. While the original story we told was to do with manipulation for ones own personal gain as seen by the expression on the background model’s face, I realised this image could also tell the story of empowering others. And more specifically in this case, women empowering other women which I saw as a great strength!
