I did this Kayak Tour of the Milford Sound on a recent trip to New Zealand with Urban Armor Gear. After racing a colleague directly across the sound (about 1/2 mile), I pulled my camera out while resting and waiting for the rest of the group to catch up. The kayak was narrow and would easily tip so every movement on the kayak was tedious. Here I balanced my phone while taking a picture of the fog and light rain which gave the fiordlands an eerie feeling. Due to the lack of light, the only thing color that really stood out was my kayak and dry bag.

The year after I retired, I snow -birded in Arizona. The sunsets were my favorite things about Arizona. To learn how to take pictures like this, read my educational blogs at www.sharetimsphotos.com.

I was travelling across Vietnam for a month in 2018. While trekking through a jungle, I came across a cave with a narrow opening and I went in until there was no more light. This is the last bit of the cave that was lit up. after this, it was pure darkness.

After visiting friends in Milwaukee as I frequently do, I was inspired to pull over and send the drone up to get a handful more shots. The city is rather underwhelming in comparison to the urban behemoths that populate the country, but its somewhat understated manner has succeeded in preserving its shoreline in a beautiful way.

Ok so it’s not quite a blizzard… but these are a selection of photos I took during the latest snow in Oxfordshire. The set is a during and after snow over a two day period. The contrast of during and after is quite spectacular.

I was walking to the station to catch a train home after a long day when I noticed that the sun, as it was setting, had perfectly singled out this one building across the river. Everything else around me had already entered into the blue haze of the early moments of the night except this one building. It stuck out to me as remarkably beautiful.

I recently took a roadtrip through New Mexico and Arizona. This shot was taken in Colossal Cave State Park outside of Tucson after I'd pitched my tent for the night. I was absolutely entranced by the giant Saguaro cactus that litter the landscape. I think this shot captures some of the magic that I felt being there. 30 seconds is the longest shutter speed on my [very old] camera, but there was just enough light coming over the horizon to keep the ISO relatively low for this shot.

I stayed after everyone left this photo spot to be able to get this shot. I really wanted to make a long exposure to get the stars in. I didn't have a tripod, so I used my sweater to stabilize my camera.

Another aerial shot taken from my drone over a freight train station. I saw that place from my car and I thought it could be looking more interesting from the air. The rust, the colors over there made it look like a train graveyard. I wish i could go higher with my drone, but in this case I had to follow the rules and fly responsible.

Situated on the top of the hill in the Skopje (Macedonia) central area and nearby the medieval fortress the Museum of Contemporary Art is surrounded by the panoramic view of the city and its larger area. The Museum building, constructed in 1970, is an excellent example of the architecture of the late modernism and symbol of the renewal of Skopje after the 1963 earthquake.
